AI Biomechanics Research Project

In my role at the AI Biomechanics Lab, my research has been primarily focused on the development of a machine learning model aimed at identifying predictors of knee osteoarthritis progression. My primary focus has been on downsampling triaxial accelerometer data collected from over 1,500 participants at a frequency of 100 Hz over a 14-day period. By exploring various downsampling techniques, I aim to balance the trade-off between data volume and model efficiency, with the goal of enhancing the model’s performance. This research holds significant potential in identifying and preventing the worsening of knee osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease affecting over 500 million individuals globally. I have been awarded the AI Scholars Award and the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering IDEA Fellowship for my contributions to the project.
